Rangoon: The ‘Myanmar International Airway’ (MAI) will launch a Rangoon-Bodh Gaya (India) flight from October 25 2009 .The ticket reservation centre of the Burmese National Flag carrier said MAI will operate the Rangoon- Bodh Gaya flight twice a week - Wednesdays and Saturdays.
Bodh Gaya in India’s Bihar state, is considered a sacred place for Buddhists, as it is known as the land where Lord Buddha attained enlightenment.

Air

Gaya internationl airport is nearest airport TO bodhagaya but flight coming on seasonal basis . Patna is the second nearest airport and has good connectvity from other cities in india .

Rail

Gaya has its own rail station, with train connections to a number of destinations across India.

Road

Bodhgaya is also well connected by road. A number of buses ply from Patna and other cities in Bihar. NH-2 which connects Kolkata to Delhi is the main road passing through Patna.

JET AIRWAY START FLIGHT BUDDISHT CIRCUIT WITH BANGKOK –GAYA – VARANASI FLIGHT

Varanasi is one of the oldest cities in the world, Gaya is home to the famed Mahabodhi temple, a UNESCO heritage site, and the site where the Buddha attained enlightenment, according to Buddhist traditions.

Jet Airways will connect the Thai capital of Bangkok with Gaya and Varanasi, two important Indian cities on the famed Buddhist circuit, with twice weekly flights, effective October 6, 2009.

The airline will operate with twice weekly services on the sector, on Tuesdays and Fridays respectively. These flights will allow people from the South Asian region to visit the famed Buddhist pilgrimage sights.
